There are lots of ideas for art projects kids can make at home. The internet is a wonderful resource for ideas and inspiration on things to do while sheltering-at-home. Here is a bracelet making project we found that we love. We've also included links to more homemade bracelet projects for you to check out. The best part is you can do them with items you probably have around the house, and many of them involve recycling - toilet paper rolls, magazines, junk mail, water bottles and more!
Water Bottle Bracelets
Empty water bottle bottle
Yarn, ribbons, string, etc. (any color(s), cut into 12" lengths for ease of wrapping but you can use any scraps you have)
Cut the wide part of the water bottle into elipses (at least 1" wide but you can vary sizes)
Tie one end of a piece of string around the edge of the plastic circle
Wrap the yarn around the edge of the circle
When you come to the end of your string, tie it to another piece and continue wrapping
As you wrap, keep moving around the circle until you've covered all of the plastic
When you get to the end, tie the final end piece to the bracelet or glue it to the inside of the bracelet
You can use dots of glue to help keep the string in place as you wrap around the circle
Once you've finished, you can add additional layers of wrapping to give your bracelet a layered look
You can string beads onto the string you use for additional layers to add embellishment
Make a few different size and color bracelets and wear them together for a different look
